Start-Up India, Stand-Up India

Here we will discuss about two schemes: Start-Up India and Stand-Up India which are launched by Ministry of Skill Development and entrepreneurship.


Start-Up India and Stand-Up India Schemes

1) Start-Up India

• Start-up fund worth Rs. 10,000 crore will be created for funding of Start-ups. 

• Start-ups will be exempted from paying income tax on their profit for the first three years. 

• Government is working on a simple exit policy for Start-ups.

• Government is working towards fast-tracking of Start-up patent applications.

80% exemption in patent fee for Start-up businesses, and said a self-certification based compliance system for Start-ups would be introduced for 9 labour and environment laws.

• Start-up Action Plan released

2) Stand-Up India Scheme

• To promote entrepreneurship among SC/ST and Women entrepreneurs. 

• The Scheme is intended to facilitate at least two such projects per bank branch, on an average one for each category of entrepreneur.
