National Education Policy 2020 - Know All The Facts

National Education Policy was framed in 1986 and modified in 1992. Thus, the new National Education Policy 2020 will replace the 34 your old National Policy on Education.

The motto of National Education Policy 2020 is to bring reforms in school and higher education systems in the country.

The National Education Policy of 2020 is aligned to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as it is built on the foundational pillars of:

The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020

The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 was passed by the Parliament and it replaces  Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Ordinance, 2020. 

The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 provide for a national framework on farming agreements (contract farming) that protects and empowers farmers to engage with agri-business firms, processors, wholesalers, exporters or large retailers for farm services and sale of future farming produce at a mutually agreed remunerative price framework in a fair and transparent manner and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020 will come into force from 5th June, 2020.


Panchsheel Agreement or Five Principles of Peaceful Co-existence

Panchsheel Agreement was signed between Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and China's Premier Zhou Enlai in Beijing, China on 19th October, 1954

The Panchsheel Treaty provides for the set of principles according to which international affairs between two nations should be conducted such that two nations can co-exists peacefully, maintaining friendly relations with each other.  

The main objective of 5 Panchsheel principles is that with assurance of territorial integrity and sovereignty of each country, and of non-aggression, there would be peaceful co-existence and friendly relations between the countries concerned.

Good Governance Index 2019 (GGI)


The first ever Good Governance Index (GGI) was released by Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions on the occasion of Good Governance Day, observed on 25th Dec, the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee). 

GGI is a uniform tool across States to assess the Status of Governance and impact of various interventions taken up by the State Government and UTs.

Good Governance Index takes into consideration 10 sectors, based on 50 indicators.

In Big states category, out of 18 states, Tamil Nadu secured 1st rank while Jharkhand stood last on 18th position.

In NorthEast & Hills states category, out of 11 states, Himachal Pradesh secured 1st rank while Arunachal Pradesh stood last on 11th position.

In UTs category, out of 7 UTs, Pondicherry secured 1st rank while Lakshdweep stood last on 7th position.
