1. Official mascots of 19th Asian Games unveiled in Hangzhou, China
The official mascots of the 19th Asian Games were unveiled at a digital launch ceremony in Hangzhou, China.
The 3 robots, which are going to be the mascots for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games are collectively known as the smart triplets. Their name are - Congcong, Lianlian and Chenchen
The three mascots reflect the internet prowess of Hangzhou city and Zhejiang province.

2. Caruna Initiative
Caruna is a technology platform formed by Associations representing officers of Central Civil Services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS), to support and supplement the government's efforts in fighting coronavirus.
The acronym 'Caruna' stands for Civil Services Associations Reach to Support in Natural Disasters.
It represents a collaborative platform, on which civil servants, industry leaders, NGO professionals and IT professionals among others have come together to contribute their time and abilities.

- working on food security related issues etc.,
3. FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup postponed to 2021
The FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup, which was scheduled to be played in India between November 2nd and 21st, has been postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

FIFA-Confederations working group
The FIFA-Confederations working group has been recently established by the FIFA Council to address the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision to postpone FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup was taken by the FIFA-Confederations working group.
The working group also postponed FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup which was scheduled between August and September in Panama and Costa Rica.
4. Tony Lewis, famous for Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method, dies at 78
Tony Lewis, one of the men behind the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method used in weather-affected limited overs cricket matches, has died aged 78.

5. UNGA passes Global Solidarity resolution to fight COVID-19
The United Nations General Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution on COVID-19, calling for intensified international cooperation to defeat the pandemic.
Co-sponsored by 188 nations including India, the resolution titled Global solidarity to fight the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is first such document on the global pandemic to be adopted by the world organization.
The resolution said the General Assembly notes with great concern the threat to human health, safety and well-being caused by the disease. It highlighted the unprecedented effects of the pandemic, including the severe disruption to societies, economies, global travel and commerce, and the devastating impact on the livelihood of people.
The resolution called for intensified international cooperation in exchanging information, scientific knowledge and best practices and applying guidelines recommended by the World Health Organization.
The UN Security Council is yet to discuss the Corona virus outbreak, even as the total number of coronavirus cases across the world crossed one million.

6. United Nation's COP 26 climate change summit postponed till 2021
United Nation's COP 26 climate change summit due to take place in the Scottish city of Glasgow in November has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The dates for a rescheduled conference in 2021 would be announced later.
