‘U-Rise’ or 'Unified Re-imagined Innovation for Student Empowerment' is a unified portal launched by Uttar Pradesh government to guide students in learning, career counselling, and getting employment in the state.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the U-Rise portal in Lucknow on 24th Sep, 2020.
URISE brings to all students across the Skills, Vocational and Technical Education Spectrum, exhaustive student-related services, now made available online, for convenient access anytime, anywhere.
Uttar Pradesh was the first state to launch a unified portal along with the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP).

What is U-Rise portal?
The 'Unified Re-imagined Innovation for Student Empowerment' or 'U-Rise' will be the database of students of engineering and vocational courses and it will hold data of each student from the time of enrollment to a course till the time they get employment.
The U-Rise portal will also have an e-Library having quality study material which can be accessed by the students from anywhere, thus enabling even the students from remote districts to access good quality study material from the comfort of their home.
URISE brings onboard all government, aided, and private affiliated institutions that impart skills, vocational and technical education on an all-inclusive platform to enhance students' learning experience and empower them to excel and lead in the profession of their choice.
About 20 lakh students, getting vocational and technical education, and technical experts will benefit from this portal.
Vision of U-Rise
URISE, The Unified Reimagined Innovation for Student Empowerment is a collective effort of the Department of Technical Education, Department, Training, Employment and the Skill Development Mission, with a vision of unified empowerment of the students of engineering, polytechnic, vocational and skill trainees.
Under the direction of the Department of Technical Education, this vision and concept has been embedded to carve and develop this portal is carried out by - Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow.
Two Phases of U-Rise
The U-Rise portal will be implemented in two phases:
- In the first phase of U-Rise, polytechnics, vocational and skill development have been associated on this portal.
- In the second phase, a target has been set to link all the engineering universities of the state.

All the students, teachers, trainers of polytechnic, vocational and skill development, are at the same platform and thus all the facilities and information related to the student's life cycle will be available at one place.

The e-content, e-library, and online courses available on this portal will be accessible by students even in the most interior areas of the state.
2) Portal will help students in getting employment as prospective employer can get all details of student at one place.
3) The programme would connect students with practical and technical knowledge.
4) This portal would benefit students and empower them by providing every possible information -- from online exams, digital content, digital assessment, digital examination papers, webinars, internship, e-library, recorded video content to employment.
