BrahMos Missile - All you need to Know

BrahMos is a two-stage supersonic cruise missile having a 
full range of 290-km, capable of carrying a conventional warhead weighing up to 300 kg. 

BrahMos is jointly designed, developed and produced by India and Russia and is named after two rivers - Brahmaputra of India and Moskva of Russia. 

An intergovernmental agreement was signed between India and Russia in Feb 1998 which formed BrahMos Aerospace, a joint venture between India's DRDO and Russia's NPO Mashinostroyenia (NPOM) .

India-Japan Maritime bilateral exercise (JIMEX)

India-Japan Maritime bilateral exercise (JIMEX) is a maritime bilateral exercise held between Indian navy and Japan Navy since 2012 with special focus on maritime security cooperation. 

JIMEX is conducted biennially between the Indian Navy and Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). 


Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Systems (Pinaka Mk-I and Mk-II)

 What is Pinaka? 

Pinaka multi-barrel rocket system (MBRS) is an indigenously-build, all-weather, indirect fire, a free flight artillery rocket system having a range of 37.5 km, named after Lord Shiva's bow.

Pinaka rockets are build by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for Indian Army.

Pinaka rockets are launched from a multi barrel rocket launcher (MBRL) which has capability to launch salvo of 12 rockets in 44 seconds. 

The range of Mark-I version of Pinaka i.e., Pinaka Mk-I is about 40 kms where as range of Mark-II version of Pinaka i.e.,  Pinaka Mk-II is around 75 kms.


Rafale Jets - All you need to know

India received the first batch of five Rafale jets from France on 29th July, 2020 which landed at Ambala Air Force station. 

  • The first batch of Rafale jets included five aircrafts: 3 single-seater, 2 twin-seater.
  • They were flown by Indian Air Force pilots from Merignac airbase near Bordeaux in France to Ambala airbase in India with short a halt at Al Dhafra French air base near UAE's Abu Dabhi.
  • All 36 jets to be delivered by 2021.

Ofek 16 - Israel's satellite for intelligence coverage
